二日目:平安神宮・音羽山清水寺・祇園

Refreshing weather today, perfect skies to see perfect sites. First off on the list was the Heian Shrine, very famous in Japan, peep the huge orangey-red arches that tower over the street. It empowers the whole neighborhood, and when you come up close, you can feel the solid structure.

Before you enter any temple or shrine, it is a MUST that you cleanse your hands before entering. I saw some really ignorant foreigners taking a drink out of the fountain...バカ!

あじさい!千春!
祇園

親子丼
On the way to Kiyomizu Temple...very very very steep hill on the way up

Lover's Shrine

Yep, I got it...

Ah, what an experience getting drenched into the Japanese culture. All the things I've seen in movies, TV, the internet, cannot come close to what the actual experience and enlightenment that this trip to Kyoto has blessed me with. Seeing the actual sites, the people, and the whole atmosphere, is unforgettable. Period.
