Damn, it has been a while since I`ve posted, due to laziness and lack of interests in my own life. Actualy, it`s because of my lack of photo oppurtunies during this whack ass cold weather. Anyways, it`s been a long vacation from this blog life and I need to catch the fuck up...here`s what`s been going on since school ended... and what the fuck is up with this cold ass weather? I can`t even whack off properly without my wood limping on me...

There`s always something to cheer me up when shit gets dull...and that my friends is my favorite food in the whole world...HAMBURGER STEAK JAPANESE STYLE! a.k.a. the Chiharu Special! Fuck yeahhh...her hamburger patty meat meals are the most legit on this side of the planet...my mouth waters hard...

After a long day of bullshit with Ikea employees, traffic on the 101, 405, and 110...bullshit frost bitten weather...I get to come home to this to top off my weak-ass day...ughhh time to take my socks off and get wasted as shit...brand new beer mugs to put a lump on my belly...

I can assure you that the reason why I haven`t been posting as much, isn`t because I lack fun and entertainment, but simpy staying constantly busy trying to get by, each and everyday. For this post, I just wanted to keep it simple, basically, trying exercise my brain, note that it still functions properly. I know my normal posts are usually events in my life, and things I`ve eaten, but on the real, I think since I`ve been so tied up with school, this shitty ass economy, and working, I haven`t had free time for myself. So on my free time, these are a few aspects of my life here in the 626.

Nothing special about a pair of dirty old Chucks, but since I`ve been bumming out at home, working, just kickin` it at the pad, there really is no need to gear up. I gotta say that Chucks, no matter the situation, they will always make you look fly, I personally like my Chuck`s a bit grungy, not filthy like them punk rock bitches. You feelin` me?
For those of you who know Oreo, he`s actually a really quiet, tamed dog. Most of the time we`re home, we really don`t spend that much time pampering him. He usually just lays, quiet in his own little corner, barks occasionally at the cats outside. He`s a really horny fella too, I don`t know how much longer his balls can take, so we might snip him soon. Ouch...farewell manhood.

During the long afternoon studying, schooling, before the sun completely sets, I like to enjoy myself a nice ride around my stomping grounds. Riding a lowrider is not as easy as it seems. I lean so hard, my back is starting to hurt. The cranks are so small, like 3 inches maybe, so I don`t catch much speed. It`s a look though, a style, and that`s just how I roll. Save gas, ride a bike, just not a gay fixie.

Students live a very minimal life sometimes, school, work, fun (more so than others). Although students always complain that their schedule is so packed, in reality, we`re just lazy as fuck. We get distracted so easily, and we complain, procrastinate. Whatever...but our diets are effected by this as well. Seriously, when you`re tired, can your lazy ass cook up an authentic meal? I don`t know bout some of the students at my school, but their lazy asses are heading down to the nearest fastfood joint, and no one realizes why America is so fat. So the story goes, we`re heading up to Costa Mesa to run some errands, my road soldiers, Chiharu and Krystal, and we hit some unusual traffic, but we did get the warning from my dad before we left home, ignored it, now we`re stuck in traffic....fuck.

First of all, FUCK BLOGGER! What the hell is going on with their stupid uploading system?! Sounds good to me...unfortunately the new I heard from Joemm saying it was one hella AZN club...and for damn sure, it was. Nothing but far-east coasters from the outskirts of L.A. county.

As much as I can recall, I would say that out of all the people in line for the club were 99.9% AZN, and me the 0.1% Filipino...making me feel hella weird, not seeing any color but yellow. With out any complaint, I must compliment my all-time favorite chef, Chiharu, for turning my blog into a food journal. Can`t help to take snapshots of our daily feasts, you know you would too...not trying to brag, but she pretty much makes way better food than any Japanese restaurant I`ve eaten at. Honestly, call me fortunate, but how does a guy like find a girl like her? Off the record, I just wanna say that girls in America can barely open the door for themselves, let alone, how the hell are they gonna take the time to prepare a legitimate meal? I mean come on...obesity is all around us, with shades of grey...but can`t help notice, it`s cause they appreciate the value of Drive-thru`s more than anything else. For our pre-anniversary dinner, Chiharu had spolied me again, making one of my favorite authentic Japanese dishes, in Japanese, Hitsumabushi. Similarily, like eel-fried rice. For those of you who don`t like the taste of eel, nor the sight, smell...or simply haven`t tried, under any circumstance, you best try this dish. Whatever you`re thinking, this particular dish has powers, magical powers, it`ll make you love eel, BOOM, just like that. I`m trying my best to entice all of you in the audience. I highly recommend this dish, get some soup and beer to wash it all down.

How To Make Hitsumabushi:

Ingredients: 1 Pack of Eel, eel sauce, rice, and green onions.

Step 1: First, get your eel nice and broiled, for about a good 300-400 degrees, for about 10 minutes. Just make sure to cook the damn thing. Cooking time and temperatures may vary. Slice in half, then section it off into smaller pieces.

Step 2: Get a mixing bowl, fill with desired amount of rice. Pour in the eel sauce, and mix thoroughly. Then, add sliced pieces of eel into rice bowl. Make sure your rice:eel proportion is even, unless you prefer to have more of either one.

Step 3: This is the hard part. Mix. It`s really not hard, fool.

This soup is still in the process...but it makes an awesome side dish while eating, very nice with this particular meal. In Japanese the call this soup: Osuimono.

There you have it, 3 easy steps to making some bomb ass fried rice. Compliments to Chef Chiharu, always bringing the heat. If you can`t take the heat, stay outta the kitchen.

So here`s a short story, a very small moment with big meaning, personally...So I get home from school and I`m like, "Hey, I should let Oreo stretch out a little." So yeah, we strap up, tune in, boom, we`re out. There`s something spiritual about taking your dog out for a walk, especially in Arcadia. I noticed a lot of people do that. Is it therapeutic? It sure was a mind refreshener for me in this case. We`re heading down to the local Bento-ya to see if they`re by any chance hiring. Turns out I order Spam Musubi instead...this was before I came home to grab some rice from the fridge and find a surprise Pasadena Chicken Salad sitting with my name labeled on it and a small note...damn, I was moved...

All I gotta say is: Watch Block Party while eating this meal, it`ll get you wet. Oh yeah, get them lighters up, spark you a fatty before you do.

Last week I`ve been trying to get over this damn flu. The coughs are hella mean, making my throat hella itchy...fuck. I feel so old smelling like menthols and house clothes drenched with that bedsheet smell, like I never got out of bed. Chiharu gave me some Japanese candy-medicines, look like Life Savers, taste like medicated Ramune. My dumb-ass thought they were cough drops, so I dropped like 8 in an hour, while actually I`m supposed to be taking 1 every 4-6 hours, smart huh? Yeah, I think overdosing made me see Jesus while studying...eh, don`t recommend, stick to Vicodin ya`ll.

Yet another anniversary celebrated, as cherishable as the moments grow, so do our adventures. Small or big, it`s always an occasion I always look forward to. To all the couples out there, celebrating monthly anniversaries ARE cool, even after a year...the hell ya`ll thinking that after a year, monthly anniversaries aren`t relevant anymore...Anyways, the summer has definitely ended for us, and now I`m back to work and we both are full-time students, it`s good to kick back once in a while. Time flies so much faster now, and months are turning into years, semesters, seasons...damn.

It has been a very fulfilling summer for me this year. Ending it with good-byes and hellos, new places, new experiences, kickin back with some old school homies, doing old school shenanigans.

-Quit my job

-Almost didn't make a safe trip to Vegas

It's been a good 2 and half years, give or take, at Shogun Kitchen. I've worked hard and long, from cashier, to cook, to sushi chef and assisstant manager. It was a lot more enjoyable back in the days when Mamosan was manager, I actually felt like going to work. I almost broke down my last few days at Shogun, so I thought I should leave before I lose it. I've got good and bad memories, as in any other job, but for the most part, I'm gonna miss serving the customers, and taking time into every sushi I made, with all efforts to gain customer satisfaction. Sometimes you just have to move on to bigger, better things. Well, that's it for me...it was a long run.

Yet another trip out to Vegas, which usually consists of me, Chiharu, JP, and one of Chiharu's visiting friends. Round two began with the craziest pre-party on the drive there, not a very safe trip, but on hella of experience. We started after 12p.m., ate some Jack-in-the-box for lunch and treated to ourselves to some muffins, including the girls. About half way on the trip we stopped off to grab some refreshments, for me and Jape, the usual Mickey's 40's. Sending us over the edge, we realized that me and Jape have a big problem, we over pre-party before the actual party, sometimes we can't even party anymore. These are one of those times...

Why must I suffer!? Another farewell!? Come on why can't cover some welcome parties? The more and more I post the sadder I get seeing my friends all leave. There's barely anyone left, and it all started more than a year ago, and gradually fading numbers.

Anyways, we were lucky enough to catch Miho the day before she left for Japan. Unfortunately, we missed out on her farewell party the night before, which I hope was as insane as it should have been. Booze, cake fights, tears, farewell hugs, neighbor complaints, nudity, vomit, occupied restrooms, the works! That's how farewells should be, leave your shame at home.

Before we ventured off to Vegas we met up with Miho at her pad near Glendale, where stumbled upon this heavenly looking bag of untouched Carl's Jr. Peeping into the bag, temptation almost compelled us to grub, but the sketchy part is that is just chilling in this tree. Now, that's too good to be true. Naw, I saved my pride, and grabbed some FRESH Jack-in-the-box.

Maiko's notorious love for Taiwanese culture and people have led to the conclusion of her final dinner, final request, hands down, was Taiwanese cuisine. This consisted of: Stinky Tofu (smells like butthole), Duck Tongue, Tofu w/ Pig ears, Pig's feet, Dumplings, and cuccumber. What an interesting array of food, they tricked me into the duck's tongue, sold me on the dumplings, and the stinky tofu's after taste, tasted like someone shat in my mouth, almost the same feeling as "Jenkum." Jenkum? oh, don't ask.

Seeing that plane, load all the passengers, it saddened me to know that the one older sister/mother I had left that I looked up, was leaving me for good. We had some really good times while you were here, Maiko. Times went by too fast, memories will never be forgotten. We've been through a lot for the past year and few months.

The first time we met was at Shogun, when I met you, Chiharu, and the rest of the West Covina people. I still look back on that day when the only people I knew were Shinta and Mamosan, and I guess it was destiny that I took that group picture with you guys, even though I didn't know you.

After me and Chiharu started dating, I was always intimidated and a little scared of you, being the older sister. But even with very few times meeting each other and little conversation between us, you were so kind to me as a guest in your house. It was to me, too good to be true, that someone was genuinely kind to me that way. I still remember when I told Chiharu that I thought your English was so good, and that I though you were from here.

Throughout me and Chiharu's relationship, from dating to our trip to Japan, you have always been there for me. You always smiled and you always had a positive energy. There were times that I've seen you in the blue, but I'm glad I was there to try to help you out, even though we really didn't talk that much. A few times when I was drunk at your house I would drunk talk to you about Chiharu, and you got upset, but later on everything was good, and I knew you weren't a sucker for guys for your sister.

The one memory I can never forget is when we were in Japan together when we landed and for the first few days in Tokyo. You became more than a friend, more than a sister to me, and as drunk as you were I appreciate all our relentless efforts to secure my safety in a foreign country. It was so funny seeing you all ripped and trying to watch my back when Noriji was trying to get yours! AHAHA! Good times. Thank you for taking care of me so much, in the US and Nihon, I couldn`t have done a lot of things without you.

For all the times we had at 309, unforgettable. I can never forget your cooking, always competing with Chiharu's. I've never had such good food in my life, before I started eating at your place. Thanks for the oppurtunity to eat such delicious foods and the hospitality I recieved each time I came over.

I will never forget all the parties we had, especially your Surprise Birthday party! You were so ripped! Your Kagoshima dialect speech was so funny, and I still have all the videos from it too. I watch them if I feel like peeing in my pants.

I could go on forever and reminisce about all the good time we had, it would probably fill up this whole blog. Well, Maiko, I just really wanted to take some serious thought into writing you this message, ofcourse, this is not the end. I just wanted to thank you sincerely, since the words could not be expressed in person.

Maiko, thank you for everything, and I seriously mean everything. Being blessed to be your friend is something I will always cherish. It gets lonely here at 309 sometimes, and Oreo misses you. I think he knows you left for good, that's why he's so lazy now, and so calm. He doesn't go as crazy as he does when we come home as he used to. Chiharu gets lonely too...

I hope in the future we can live in the same area again, at least same country. I hope to see you again soon, and I really wanna see Noriji...naked! I miss all my friends in Japan, so I guess I just have to join you all there with Chiharu one day. Thanks for all the encouragement and fun conversation about our futures and careers. I'm really looking forward to doing some work out there, and work I`m really interested in doing.

I can't believe you're gone already, some of your stuff is here but you aren't, kinda weird, like you're going on a really long vacation. Chiharu hasn't moved into your room completely yet, but it was kinda weird sleeping in their the first time, it feels forbidden. I wish I could live in Chiharu's old room, but no money too. Damn.

Last Moments in Japan @ 鹿児島

Damn! Already?! My final post for this year's epic adventure in Japan, done? Aw, well it's gotta end sooner or later. Anyways, we spent the rest of our evening after Sakurajima attending the Matsuri Festival in Tenmonkan. They do it up huge out here, way bigger, better than the ones in Downtown L.A. Little Tokyo, pshh...nothing but anime nerds there. The whole atmosphere is filled with the sizzle of what a summer night should feel like. The mixed rhythms, the crowded walkways, the heat from the grilles and fryers, youth is in madd effect. A variety of performances square off the crowd, from b-boys/b-girls, studio dancers, punk rockers, rapper, skaters, the whole street scene was heavy. Moms, dads, brothers, and sisters, old and young, gathered this night, all participating in the same activities, grubbing out, sharing moments watching hanabi. Being able to experience such an event is a life story, and an unforgettable last moment and impression I had in Japan. Let's get on with the show...

Awesome, just when I though I would never be able to "onsen" anymore, I was blessed with the Kagoshima airport had a foot bath for one last time before departure.

Well, I guess this is how the trip ended. I knew months before I would even go to Japan, that I would have the hardest time adjusting to the California lifestyle again, and yes, yes I did. Seperation anxiety from the people, the places, my friends, the food, and offcourse the All-you-can-drink. The month dragged out in the beginning, but for the last few days went by so fast, and I really wanted to stay longer, even forever. I'm glad I was able to do a lot of things and visit a lot of famous places, even if I sacrificed every bit of energy just to do or see it, it was worth it. I left a lot of good people there, I met some new faces, made new relationships, made myself feel at home, got really drunk, basically everything on my checklist was checked off and some more items were added on as a bonus. Besides the uncomfortable humidity and rain, Japan is still one hella of a vacation spot. In the meanwhile, just gotta save up enough to go back and do some more havoc. Signing off my Japan trip sucks.

Sakurajima, the infamous active volcano in Kagoshima is next on the list. One hella of landmark, gotta try the daikon I heard, unfortunately I didn't. I gotta hand it to the Japanese for being able to party it up till the break of dawn...Tonight's a big night, full schedule ahead of us and things are gonna be popping off in the city around 10. We catch the last bus from Chiharu's to get down to Tenmonkan, getting the feel of the city night life. Eager to get out of the soberness, Chiharu and I decided to pre-party it up by ourselves at a local karaoke, all you can drink is a must. Killing 2 hours and 6,000 yen, feeling pretty loose, we meet up with her friend, Haruna. I've gotta say that Kumamoto has proven to be one cozy city. The people are less hectic than big city people, the whole lifestyle is relax to say the least. I've never achieved such a peace of mind, yet I still partied it up every night. Next time, or anytime you decide to stop on by Kyushu, ya gotta make the trip out to Kumamoto, for some wholesomeness. Yep.

I decided to take the trip out to Kumamoto to visit Yuki in Yatsushiro. I was blessed with good friends who came from good families. For my stay in Kumamoto, Yuki was the perfect tour guide for his prefecture. Although Kumamoto, Yatsushiro to be more specific, is a bit more, actually a lot more country than the previous cities I've visited, it does have it's own way of fun. As for me, someone once called me, "country boy," this is the perfect "home-town" feeling and vibe. The town where you went to elementary school, old friends, places you used to play, etc. For me, coming to this peaceful retreat, is a nice break away from the city life. Anyways, peep this pics.

On the south side of the castle, there's a small quarters for the king or the head of the castle where they stay in. 4 months prior to our visit, they had just recently rebuilt the whole interior with new woods. The wood used is very hard to come by, you'll never be able to find such quality in American woods.

Every single nook and crannie, every single door handle and pendants, are all hand-crafted, all custom work.

Finally made it! To our surprise and interest, we scoped out a young couple making out on top of slab in front of eveyrone....it was awesome, too bad some girls broke it up...boo. Basically we saw a lot of couples coming up here...must be the make out spot in the country side.

In Kumamoto, they are well-known about their horses, but they're even more popular for eating them! That's right, they eat horses, and they eat em raw! Horse sashimi anyone? A very rare eat in America, but muscling down just won't do justice to Kumamoto, savor every single morsel of this horse.
